Deployable Waste to Energy Conversion technology to be presented at the Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit
September 9, 2014 BURLINGTON, Ontario – Eco Waste Solutions (EWS), a manufacturer of thermal waste conversion and energy recovery technologies, is pleased to announce that it was selected as a finalist in the Defense Energy Technology Challenge (DETC).
The Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI) selected the top 14 technologies, from over 200 entries, for presentation at the Summit. Each submission was reviewed in several areas including solution fit, strengths of technology, challenges of implementation/adoption, positioning guidance, and strength of potential collaboration opportunities.
Challenge awardees will present their energy technologies to a high-level panel of military and defense energy leadership during the Pacific Defense Energy Summit on Sept. 15-17 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Energy security and independence are critical to America’s national security and are two goals at the heart of the U.S. Military’s investment in clean energy technologies.
The DETC program is co-located with the Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit and the Asia Pacific Resilience Innovation Summit, convening global leadership across the resilience pillars of energy, agriculture, water and security.
Jean Lucas, Eco Waste Solutions’ Executive Vice President of Business Development, will be presenting the company’s DWEC (Deployable Waste to Energy Conversion) System. The containerized waste disposal system is designed with the goal of being smaller, lighter, and more fuel efficient than options currently available, as well as producing a net energy benefit for expeditionary military bases.
