Technician
Reporting to the Production Manager, and working under the guidance of the Lead Technician at our Batavia, NY facility, the Technician will produce subassemblies, test equipment, perform final assembly work while maintaining rigorous quality standards, operating within our Quality Management System, and closely following quality plans, procedures and maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities:
- Work safely and help others to do the same. Use the policies and procedures of the HSE plans, training and experience, combined with a safety-first attitude.
- Self-organized – plan and organize work area to ensure that you have the material, documentation, and equipment to do the job safely and with perfect quality.
- Produce sub-assemblies and finished products by reading and interpreting blueprint drawings, technical specifications, and other information and working with parts lists and checklists
- Assemble electro-mechanical systems such as burners, fuel trains and tanks, blowers, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and motors to installation of ductwork, conduit, piping, wiring, cable, hardware and supports.
- Inspect parts and assemblies to verify conformance to blueprints and specifications using measuring instruments.
- Follow test procedures, record information, file accurate reports,
- Assist with shipping and receiving, inventory management, and refurbishment work.
- Receive trucks, unload equipment and supplies using forklift.
- Assemble, disassemble, and rig equipment using forklift, hoists, jacks, dollies, rollers, slings, and alignment tools.
- Occasionally travel for vendor meetings/inspections, customer start-ups/demonstrations, testing programs, training, inspection, troubleshooting and/or repairs. Travel may be outside of NY state, with potential for international travel.
- Follow the Quality Management System and project plans, monitor conformity with procedures, and contribute to the company’s continuous improvement strategies.
- Function as an active team-member helping others, and supporting less experienced personnel, as required.
- Ensure consistent quality, while continually seeking opportunities to improve our processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must attend worksite in person in Batavia daily, and reside in NY State, preferably in Western New York
- Able to travel, including out of state. A valid driver’s license is required.
- STEM education or skilled trade, qualifications as a Mechanic, Millwright, Technician, or Technologist are preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and prioritizing skills
- Ability to read blueprints and understand assembly instructions.
- Excel at performing multiple jobs, and complex tasks that require attention to detail
- Ability to operate a forklift, training provided
- Proficient with MS Office programs
- Must supply own toolbox with basic leveling and measuring tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, cordless drill, multi-tester, etc. (detailed list will be provided).
- Experience with instrumentation and PLC controls is an asset
