TECHNICIAN
At our specialized manufacturing facility in Batavia, NY, our amazing team builds products that address critical environmental challenges for our customers. We are looking for motivated, smart, detail oriented, individuals to join our dedicated and talented.
Technician
Reporting to the Production Manager, and working under the guidance of the Lead Technician at our Batavia, NY facility, the Technician will produce subassemblies, test equipment, perform final assembly work while maintaining rigorous quality standards, operating within our Quality Management System, and closely following quality plans, procedures and maintaining a commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities:
- Work safely and help others to do the same. Use the policies and procedures of the HSE plans, training and experience, combined with a safety-first attitude.
- Self-organized – plan and organize work area to ensure that you have the material, documentation, and equipment to do the job safely and with perfect quality.
- Produce sub-assemblies and finished products by reading and interpreting blueprint drawings, technical specifications, and other information and working with parts lists and checklists
- Assemble electro-mechanical systems such as burners, fuel trains and tanks, blowers, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and motors to installation of ductwork, conduit, piping, wiring, cable, hardware and supports.
- Inspect parts and assemblies to verify conformance to blueprints and specifications using measuring instruments.
- Follow test procedures, record information, file accurate reports,
- Assist with shipping and receiving, inventory management, and refurbishment work.
- Receive trucks, unload equipment and supplies using forklift.
- Assemble, disassemble, and rig equipment using forklift, hoists, jacks, dollies, rollers, slings, and alignment tools.
- Occasionally travel for vendor meetings/inspections, customer start-ups/demonstrations, testing programs, training, inspection, troubleshooting and/or repairs. Travel may be outside of NY state, with potential for international travel.
- Follow the Quality Management System and project plans, monitor conformity with procedures, and contribute to the company’s continuous improvement strategies.
- Function as an active team-member helping others, and supporting less experienced personnel, as required.
- Ensure consistent quality, while continually seeking opportunities to improve our processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must attend worksite in person in Batavia daily and reside in NY State, preferably in Western New York
- Able to travel, including out of state. A valid driver’s license is required.
- STEM education or skilled trade, qualifications as a Mechanic, Millwright, Technician, or Technologist are preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and prioritizing skills
- Ability to read blueprints and understand assembly instructions.
- Excel at performing multiple jobs, and complex tasks that require attention to detail
- Ability to operate a forklift, training provided
- Proficient with MS Office programs
- Must supply own toolbox with basic leveling and measuring tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, pliers, cordless drill, multi-tester, etc. (detailed list will be provided).
- Experience with instrumentation and PLC controls is an asset

TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR

TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATOR
At our Batavia, NY facility, our work is focused on building equipment specifically designed to protect the health of our troops while protecting the environment. While delivering on this mission, our workplace will allow you to expand your technical knowledge, develop new skills, and build on the strengths and qualifications you bring to the job.
The illustrators at EWS work closely with engineers, designers, and technical writers to ensure accuracy and clarity in conveying information. The illustrators have a keen understanding of the design, goal and problems our products attempt to solve. Our illustrators will create material that enhances existing products or can support the creation of new programs and products with custom visual guides.
Responsibilities:
- Work with technical and engineering teams to develop accurate technical illustrations used in technical manuals, product development plans, and other documentation
- Incorporate feedback from subject matter experts to refine illustrations and ensure accuracy in conveying technical information
- Maintain consistency in visual style and format across all illustrations to ensure a cohesive and professional appearance (e.g. in accordance with applicable MIL-STD)
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and project timelines
- Use SolidWorks to manipulate 3D models and generate required illustration files
- Maintain a secure, well-organized 3D Design Library
- Process illustrations as required, using image processing applications such as GIMP and Photoshop
- Create new artwork, based on engineering department needs
- Assist in the organization and placement of graphics in technical manuals
Requirements:
- Must reside in NY State, preferably Western New York
- High level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, Photoshop and/or GIMP
- Preference for those with 3D animation and video editing skills
- Preference for those with experience in creating MIL-STD-40051-2C documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
- Attend worksite in Batavia for in-person interview, if requested, and for technical/product training

TECHNICAL WRITER

The Technical Writer is a hybrid position, some travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the technical and engineering team to understand product technical data, customer specifications, and documentation protocols
- Write clear, easy to understand technical narratives
- Use XML authoring tools, such as Arbor Text, to create and edit structured documentation in accordance with established MIL-STDs.
- Assemble and format information to produce excellent quality documentation
- Organize and manage documentation projects, including version control, document review, and approval processes
Requirements:
- Reside in NY State, preferably Western New York
- Minimum of 2 years experience writing complex technical documents
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Organize data, creating reports and visualizations, using advanced features and formulas (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, Macros, Data simulations etc.)
- Preference to those with coding experience that will assist in the creation of macros and functions to help automate workload
- Preference for those with experience using XML content management (tagging) software such as Arbortext to create documents that meet MIL-STDs
- Mechanical aptitude, experience operating and maintaining vehicles, equipment, or machinery
- Attend worksite in Batavia for in-person interview, if requested, and for technical/product training
